Crypto influencer Ben Armstrong—better known as “BitBoy”—has once again made headlines, this time for being arrested in Florida. The Volusia County Division of Corrections listed Armstrong as a “fugitive from justice,” taken into custody on March 25 at 7:18 p.m. local time.
The arrest comes just days after Armstrong revealed on social media that a warrant had been issued for him. On March 21, Armstrong posted on X (formerly Twitter), confirming the warrant was related to emails he sent to Cobb County, Georgia Judge Kimberly Childs while representing himself in court. He also claimed the judge deleted her social media accounts in response to the messages.
Armstrong’s legal team has not issued any public statements, and efforts to reach him for comment have been unsuccessful.
This isn’t Armstrong’s first brush with the law. In September 2023, he was arrested while livestreaming outside the home of a former associate, accusing the individual of withholding his Lamborghini. His erratic behavior has also led to a falling out with the parent company of Hit Network, which officially severed ties with Armstrong in August 2023, citing substance abuse and misconduct. Armstrong denied the accusations, calling it a “coup.”
Armstrong also faced a class-action lawsuit in March 2023 for promoting Binance and allegedly endorsing unregistered securities. The case was settled in August 2024, with Armstrong and NBA player Jimmy Butler paying $340,000 without admitting wrongdoing.
