A mysterious Ethereum investor from China has shocked the crypto world by transferring 2,553 ETH—worth around $6.8 million—to various addresses, including burn wallets and WikiLeaks, as part of an unusual protest against alleged mind-control technology.

On Feb. 17, a man identified as Hu Lezhi sent 500 ETH to a null address commonly used for token burning. Crypto intelligence platform Arkham flagged the transaction, leading to further investigations. It was soon revealed that Lezhi had made 16 high-value transfers, including donations to WikiLeaks and the Ethereum Foundation, as well as multiple unidentified wallets.

Each of these transactions carried on-chain messages in which Lezhi claimed that Chinese corporations and entities were using advanced "brain-computer weapons" to manipulate individuals, turning them into digital slaves. He described himself as a computer programmer who had just realized he had been monitored and controlled his entire life. He also alleged that the persecution against him intensified after he became aware of the technology’s influence.

Lezhi directly accused Feng Xin and Xu Yuzhi, the CEOs of Chinese firm Kuande Investment, of using such mind-control tactics on employees. However, he also suggested that they, too, were victims of the same technology.

His final messages warned of a new form of crime where victims lose all sense of free will. He implied that he feared becoming a complete "puppet" himself.

Between Feb. 10 and Feb. 17, Lezhi transferred his entire 2,553 ETH fortune to drive his message across the blockchain, an unprecedented act that has sparked debates about whether his claims are rooted in truth—or paranoia.
