ZKSync reported that an admin wallet was compromised, resulting in the theft of $5 million worth of ZK tokens. The stolen funds were identified as the remaining unclaimed tokens from the ZKSync airdrop. As a result of the incident, the price of the ZK token fell by 13.7% in the last 24 hours, with trading volume increasing by 96% to $71 million. ZKSync emphasized that the attack was an isolated incident limited to the token airdrop contract. The team is currently implementing necessary security measures in response to the breach.
