Wyoming’s Future as a Blockchain Leader Hangs in the Balance Without Fair Procurement Processes
Wyoming has aimed to become a blockchain leader with its pro-crypto laws and initiatives, but recent procurement processes around a state-backed stablecoin initiative have raised concerns about transparency. Charles Hoskinson, founder of Cardano, highlights that the closed-door decision-making favored established solutions like Ethereum, while newer platforms such as Cardano, XRP, and others were unfairly disqualified. The procurement lack of transparency contradicted earlier commitments to an open process, causing concerns about the integrity of public decision-making. In response, Hoskinson plans to launch the Wyoming Integrity PAC, focused on ensuring fairness, transparency, and ethical governance in technology procurement processes. This initiative aims to correct past mistakes and create an inclusive environment for blockchain innovation in Wyoming, promoting accountability to build public trust and support for emerging technologies.
