World Foundation and Tools For Humanity have launched the next phase of their developer incentive campaign with World Build 2.0, co-hosted with FWB. This event focuses on helping developers accelerate the creation of mini apps within the World mobile application and secure funding. The first World Build event, held from February to May 2025, featured an online hackathon, an in-person build sprint, and a demo day. Similar activities are anticipated in the second event. The World Foundation is providing various funding opportunities, including $300,000 in grants for mini app developers and a total of $1 million in WLD tokens for those who meet user verification thresholds. As of now, there are 300 mini apps registered, accumulating around $12 million in venture capital funding. With over 10 million downloads of the World app on Android and a focus on platform growth rather than immediate monetization, the initiative emphasizes global user adoption, noting its top markets outside the US.
