Which senators invest in crypto? 11 lawmakers have blockchain-related investments
As stablecoin regulation becomes a focal point in the US Senate, details are emerging about senators personally invested in cryptocurrencies. Following the Senate's 66-32 vote to advance the GENIUS Act for stablecoin regulation, concerns about potential corruption arose among members. In response, Senator Michael Bennet introduced the STABLE GENIUS Act to restrict Congress members from investing in cryptocurrencies. Lawmakers are mandated to disclose their investments. Eleven senators currently hold cryptocurrency-related investments: Tim Sheehy (MT), Steve Daines (MT), Jacky Rosen (NV), Dan Sullivan (AK), Markwayne Mullin (OK), Tommy Tuberville (AL), Katie Britt (AL), Bernie Moreno (OH), Shelley Capito (WV), Dave McCormick (PA), and Sheldon Whitehouse (RI). Their investments range from shares in crypto ETFs to major companies like PayPal and eToro. The ongoing dialogue about the proper regulations and ethical considerations regarding congressional investments in crypto continues to evolve as the market gains mainstream acceptance.
