Web3 platform Travala integrates crypto payments for 2.2M hotels on Trivago
Travala, a Web3 travel platform, has partnered with Trivago to enable cryptocurrency-based hotel bookings across over 2.2 million properties. This partnership allows users to pay with over 100 cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin and Ether. According to Juan Otero, CEO of Travala, this could boost cryptocurrency adoption within the travel industry. The integration aims to attract Trivago's substantial monthly user base while highlighting Travala's unique offering of crypto rewards for bookings, including BTC and AVA loyalty tokens. Travala differentiates itself from traditional booking platforms by providing a crypto-based loyalty program instead of conventional points systems. With the growing acceptance of cryptocurrencies, it is suggested that this move could prompt more traditional travel companies to adopt similar payment options. The expanding partnership with Trivago follows Travala surpassing $100 million in gross annual revenue, and the company is focused on enhancing user experience in the industry.
