US lawmakers will propose crypto regulation by Nov — Anthony Scaramucci
Anthony Scaramucci, founder of SkyBridge Capital and former White House communications director, indicated that US lawmakers are likely to propose crypto regulation before the 2026 midterm elections. In an interview, he emphasized that members of Congress facing primary elections in swing districts want to demonstrate their commitment to the crypto industry. He anticipated a surge of legislative activities, potentially including a crypto market structure bill, before Congress's 2025 holiday recess, suggesting it could emerge in November. Scaramucci also noted that PACs funded by industry players could influence these elections. Previously, the House passed the Financial Innovation and Technology for the 21st Century Act, but the Senate did not vote on it. Furthermore, he criticized former President Trump's memecoin launch as detrimental to the crypto industry, though it initially surged in market capitalization before declining significantly.
