US Bitcoin ETFs could pull in over $50B in 2025
Matt Hougan, CIO of Bitwise, reported that US spot Bitcoin ETFs saw nearly $5 billion in net inflows in January alone, suggesting projected inflows could exceed $50 billion by the end of 2025. Last year, these ETFs recorded $35.2 billion in total inflows. Despite month-to-month volatility in inflows, Hougan anticipates that 2025 will see continued growth due to heightened interest from institutional investors. The largest player in January was BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT), which attracted $3.2 billion, followed by Fidelity's Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) with $1.3 billion. Bitwise’s ETF added over $125 million in inflows, ranking fifth among 11 ETFs. Hougan and Ryan Rasmussen predict larger inflow volumes as conventional financial structures begin engaging more with Bitcoin ETFs, similar to historical trends observed with gold ETFs.
