Trump Media is planning to launch a crypto token and digital wallet for subscription payments on its streaming platform, Truth+. CEO Devin Nunes announced in a letter to shareholders that the proposed utility token would initially be used for Truth+ subscriptions and later expanded for other products in the Truth ecosystem. This initiative is part of a broader rewards program across Trump Media’s services, which includes Truth Social and Truth.Fi. The concept of a crypto payment system was first indicated last November when the company sought a patent for software enabling digital wallet functions and crypto payments. Truth+, launched in October, targets a politically conservative audience with its film and television offerings. Additionally, Trump Media is collaborating with Crypto.com and Yorkville America Digital to launch ETFs that will focus on American-made crypto and stocks. However, the introduction of a utility token raises concerns about potential conflicts of interest relating to Trump's political influence in the crypto space, particularly as Trump is involved with other crypto ventures and holds a significant stake in them.
