Trump-Backed World Liberty Financial Airdrops Millions of Stablecoins to 85,000 Wallets
World Liberty Financial airdropped $47 worth of its USD1 stablecoin to over 85,000 wallets holding its governance token, WLFI, with a total value exceeding $4 million. The airdrop aimed to test the platform's readiness for decentralized finance (DeFi) services. While holders in certain jurisdictions, like New York, were excluded for legal reasons, the process was conducted smoothly and without claims or links. World Liberty, associated with President Donald Trump, has been developing its crypto offerings since September but has yet to launch its core DeFi functionalities. The project hinted at making its WLFI token tradable soon, which would be a crucial step towards expanding its services. This token currently allows holders to vote on governance proposals only and is not yet listed for trading.
