Ahead of a dinner with US President Donald Trump, the top holders of his memecoin have been finalized, with 220 wallet holders possessing over 13.7 million tokens worth approximately $174 million. The TRUMP memecoin project announced it would no longer consider additional purchases for the dinner, allowing these tokenholders to apply for background checks if they wish to attend the event scheduled for May 22. Concerns have been raised about potential security issues and conflicts of interest, as many lawmakers criticized the launch of the memecoin shortly before Trump's presidency started. Notably, Freight Technologies has invested $20 million in the token, which may influence Trump's policies. During his 2024 campaign, Trump previously engaged crypto users with a dinner for supporters who bought his mugshot NFTs. While some speculate that notable figures like Justin Sun and Elon Musk might attend, none of the top tokenholders have publicly announced their plans to apply for the dinner.
