The Open Network (TON) has enhanced its crosschain capabilities by integrating with LayerZero, aiming to connect to over 100 chains, including Ethereum and Tron. This integration establishes a connection to Tether's USDt stablecoin, allowing users to bridge assets across various networks using LayerZero’s messaging protocol. Key partners in this venture include USDT and the crosschain bridge protocol Stargate, enabling direct transfers of USDT from major networks to the TON blockchain. The TON Foundation notes that this integration is pivotal for connecting to USDt, marking a significant milestone in their crosschain efforts. As a result, TON is now the fourth largest network for USDT, with $1.4 billion of USDT circulating on its blockchain. This integration is expected to facilitate greater interoperability and expand TON’s presence within the multichain ecosystem, particularly with the substantial USDT supply available on Ethereum and Tron, accounting for 96% of all USDT in circulation.
