TON blockchain network back online after brief outage
The Open Network (TON) experienced a brief outage that halted block production on June 1, 2025, due to an error in the masterchain dispatch queue. The issue was detected at 12:51 UTC, and functionality was restored approximately 40 minutes later. TON's development team implemented a quick fix that required updating only a few master chain validators to resume operations, assuring users that no funds were jeopardized during the downtime. Past outages in 2024 were primarily related to high traffic from the DOGS memecoin, which caused significant network congestion. Despite these interruptions, TON has been attracting retail interest and institutional investment, including substantial backing from well-known venture capital firms like Sequoia Capital and Draper Associates in March 2025.
