Tether Jumps Into AI Race With Open-Source Platform, Planned Bitcoin and USDT Payments
Tether, the company behind the largest stablecoin USDT, has announced Tether AI, an open-source platform that integrates AI with cryptocurrency. This new initiative aims to provide decentralized applications that run directly on user devices, allowing for personal AI technology without centralized control. CEO Paolo Ardoino highlighted the potential for users to delegate complex cryptocurrency tasks to AI agents that operate autonomously within a decentralized framework, enhancing user accessibility to financial tools and applications. Tether AI will not require API keys and will be compatible with a wide array of hardware, enabling better privacy and self-custody of data and funds. Additionally, Tether plans to enhance the functionality of its stablecoin USDT across the Bitcoin network, including integration with the Lightning Network, marking a significant step towards merging traditional finance and blockchain technologies.
