Tether, the largest stablecoin issuer, is expanding into artificial intelligence with several AI applications, as announced by CEO Paolo Ardoino. The AI division, Tether Data, is working on apps such as AI Translate, AI Voice Assistant, and AI Bitcoin Wallet Assistant. These applications are designed for local use on any device, ensuring privacy and self-custody for both data and funds. A demo of the AI Bitcoin Wallet Assistant showcased its ability to autonomously handle user requests, including managing Bitcoin wallet addresses and transactions. Tether's AI initiatives began in 2023 with their acquisition of a European crypto miner specializing in cloud computing and generative AI, and they are currently recruiting top talent for further developments. Tether plans to launch its AI SDK platform by the end of Q1 2025. In addition to this, Tether reported record profits of $13 billion in 2024, with significant assets in US Treasury bonds, highlighting its robust financial position within the cryptocurrency market.
