Terraform Labs to open loss claims portal on March 31
Terraform Labs is set to launch a crypto loss claims portal on March 31, nearly three years after the collapse of the Terra ecosystem, which resulted in $45 billion in losses in May 2022. This portal will allow individuals who lost at least $100 during the collapse to submit claims for reimbursement. Claimants must complete their submission by 11:59 pm ET on April 30. The company can potentially payout between $184.5 million and $442.2 million, though the exact amount of eligible losses remains uncertain. There are two types of evidence that can be submitted—manual and preferred—with the latter deemed more reliable. Claims with manual evidence may face longer review times. Following a Delaware court's decision approving Terraform Labs' bankruptcy plan and winding down operations, this initiative aims to provide relief to investors without extensive litigation. The collapse saw significant impacts throughout the crypto community, notably affecting Bitcoin's value. Additionally, the founder of Terraform Labs, Do Kwon, was arrested, facing multiple charges from the US Justice Department.
