The developers of the Telegram game Farm Frens have acknowledged significant issues during their recent token launch on the Ethereum layer-2 Base. The team encountered multiple technical problems with the token generation event (TGE), including challenges related to token allocations, claiming, and staking. They admitted to making inaccurate assumptions about the transaction speeds on the mainnet, which resulted in errors when users attempted to claim their airdrop. In response, they have launched a support contact form for users still facing issues. Initially scheduled for January, the token launch was delayed due to a need for projects on Telegram to adapt to use the TON blockchain. The creators have now redesigned their roadmap, including plans for a standalone wallet and a migration to the messaging platform Line, with a new season of in-game content expected in the second quarter of 2025. As a result of the issues, the FREN token's market cap has seen a drop of 9%.
