The Taproot Wizards Ordinals collection, consisting of 2,121 Wizard NFTs inspired by a 2013 Reddit phenomenon, is set to go on sale on March 25. The sale will occur in two phases: the first phase will offer NFTs to an allowlist for 0.2 BTC, or approximately $16,340. Participants were required to complete various quests, including one involving a wizard costume, to qualify for the allowlist. The second phase will feature a Dutch auction starting at a price higher than 0.2 BTC. The project, which inscribed its artwork on the Bitcoin blockchain via the Ordinals protocol in 2023, has gained significant anticipation and promises a limited supply, with project lead Udi Wertheimer noting its potential to drive innovation on the Bitcoin network. The funds raised will be directed towards enhancing Bitcoin applications and protocols, specifically advocating for the return of the OP_CAT feature, which would improve Bitcoin programmability. The Taproot Wizards have also been involved in a recent funding round led by Standard Crypto to support these developments, aiming for deeper collaboration within the blockchain industry.
