Strategy touts 13.7% YTD Bitcoin yield in earnings print
Michael Saylot's tech firm Strategy reported in its May 1 earnings that it achieved a Bitcoin yield of 13.7% year-to-date, translating to a gain of approximately 61,000 BTC for shareholders. The company plans to increase its 2025 targets for Bitcoin yield to 25% and a Bitcoin dollar gain target to $15 billion. In the first quarter of 2025, Strategy recorded an 11% Bitcoin yield and nearly 50,000 BTC in gains. To finance future Bitcoin purchases, the firm intends to offer an additional $21 billion in stock. Shares of Strategy have risen over 27% this year to around $381 as of May 1, although they are still below the November highs of more than $470 per share. Since beginning its Bitcoin acquisition in 2020, the company has accumulated over 550,000 BTC for nearly $38 billion, reflecting an average purchase price of approximately $68,500 per Bitcoin, with an overall treasury value exceeding $53 billion.
