Strategy, Semler bag 2K Bitcoin as price edged toward $100K last week
Michael Saylor’s Strategy slowed Bitcoin buying last week as BTC neared $100,000, while Semler Scientific ramped up its crypto investments. Strategy acquired 1,895 Bitcoin for $180.3 million during the week from April 28 to May 4 at an average price of $95,167 per BTC, marking one of its smallest purchases this year. In contrast, Semler Scientific, a healthtech firm, purchased 167 Bitcoin for $16.2 million between April 30 and May 2 at an average price of $97,093 per BTC, a 50% increase from its previous purchase announced on April 25. As of May 2, Semler held a total of 3,634 BTC, while Strategy held significantly more with 555,450 BTC. This highlights contrasting approaches among institutional players in the crypto market as prices continue to trend upwards.
