Elon Musk's SpaceX has successfully launched the first manned mission to orbit the Earth's poles, a mission funded and led by crypto investor Chun Wang, founder of the Bitcoin mining pool F2Pool. The crew includes Wang, along with German polar scientist Rabea Rogge, Norwegian cinematographer Jannicke Mikkelsen, and Australian Arctic adventurer Eric Philips. They departed from Cape Canaveral, Florida, at 1:46 am UTC on April 1, for a mission expected to last three to five days. This flight marks a notable achievement as it is the first human endeavor to fly over both the North and South poles, as the crew is scheduled to circle the globe every 1.5 hours. SpaceX has yet to reveal the cost of the mission, which also involves conducting 22 experiments in space, such as performing the first X-ray in space and growing mushrooms to understand more about long-duration space flight.
