Someone Launched a Solana Meme Coin From the Trump Crypto Dinner—It Flopped
At a recent exclusive dinner hosted by President Trump for top holders of his meme coin, an attendee attempted to launch a Solana meme coin called DINNER. The launch occurred amid Trump's speech and initially peaked at a $450,000 market cap before quickly collapsing by 89%. The deployer, a top holder invited to the event, faced backlash from investors who accused him of being a scammer after noticing he controlled nearly 10% of the token's supply and that 44% were bundled across multiple wallets, a significant red flag for traders. In subsequent updates, the deployer attempted to appease frustrated holders by sending part of his tokens to the official Trump wallet but instead mistakenly sent them to his own wallet. This misstep further eroded confidence as the token's value plummeted; it is now sitting at a mere $14,350 market cap, representing a decline of over 92% from its initial high, leading to calls for accountability from disgruntled investors.
