As Solana establishes itself as a leading layer-1 blockchain in terms of speed and cost, developers are increasingly interested in creating their blockchains using the technology behind Solana. There are approximately two dozen Solana Virtual Machine chains, including layer-1s and application-specific chains, but notable examples of these layer-1s include Fogo, which focuses on maximizing performance through a permissioned validator set; Pythnet, the oldest of the group that streams price data; and Solayer, which pivoted to its layer-1 powered by InfiniSVM after restaking gained less interest. Additionally, there's JupNet, an ambitious project from Jupiter aiming to aggregate decentralized transactions across multiple chains. Cube is developing an SVM layer-1 linked to its exchange, while Thru will incorporate its new ThruVM while showcasing the expertise of its co-founder from Solana's Firedancer client. These projects reflect the growing influence of Solana’s technology within the blockchain ecosystem.
