Solana-Powered Decentralized Wireless Network Helium Reveals AT&T Collab
Helium, a decentralized wireless network powered by Solana, has announced a collaboration with AT&T that will provide mobile subscribers access to hotspots within Helium's network. This partnership aims to improve network coverage, allowing AT&T users to benefit from a community-operated network and Helium's coverage quality metrics. Helium operates with hotspots managed by individuals and businesses, rewarding users for providing coverage. AT&T, with over 118 million subscribers, will significantly increase the number of users connecting to these hotspots. Existing hotspot owners will also profit from the increased traffic. Timothy Tweedle from AT&T noted that Helium's network offers more Wi-Fi locations for seamless connectivity. The partnership is set to grow beyond current collaborations, as Helium aims to expand its carrier relationships both in the U.S. and globally. Recently, Helium was also cleared of a lawsuit by the SEC, affirming that its tokens and devices do not qualify as securities, further solidifying its operational framework.
