Solana Mobile reveals trustless architecture, token for Seeker device
Solana Mobile, a subsidiary of Solana Labs, has announced the upcoming Seeker device, featuring a trustless architecture and a new native token, SKR. The Seeker, which is the successor to the Saga Web3 phone, is set to ship starting August 4, following two successful pre-sale phases that have yielded significant interest, with 150,000 units pre-sold at a revenue potential of at least $67.5 million. The new architecture, dubbed TEEPIN (Trusted Execution Environment Platform Infrastructure Network), is a three-layer system designed to offer a secure, trustless environment for users, developers, and manufacturers. Solana's CEO, Anatoly Yakovenko, noted that TEEPIN represents a new evolution in mobile technology, with cryptographic verification enhancing trust. Additionally, the introduction of the SKR token aims to revolutionize traditional mobile business models by granting ecosystem stakeholders genuine ownership. The preceding Saga device was regarded by many as a significant moment for Web3, generating high demand and selling out completely by December 2023.
