Solana Accelerate Day 1: Time to challenge assumptions
At the Solana Accelerate conference in New York, the community is reassessing expectations around Solana's technology and investment potential. The Firedancer client, developed by Jump, was once highly anticipated for its promised speed, but adoption has been disappointing with only 5% of Solana's stake using it. In contrast, another client, Agave, seems to be gaining traction. Anza's head of research, Roger Wattenhofer, presented Alpenglow, a significant improvement on Solana's consensus protocol that could enhance latency. Additionally, the previously assumed positive impact of ETF approvals on SOL value is now in question, particularly as companies like MicroStrategy have made substantial investments into SOL. The community is now revisiting what were once considered clear consensus topics about Solana's future, hinting at a significant shift in perception and strategy within the ecosystem.
