Sky Mavis has accused the game Ragnarok: Monster World (RMW), utilizing its Ronin chain, of secretly entering into a deal with another blockchain, allegedly breaching prior agreements. Co-founder Aleksander Larsen cited the inability of RMW to compete effectively since the Ronin blockchain became permissionless in February, which allowed developers to bypass Sky Mavis' approval. Larsen stated that this breach of trust has led them to terminate their professional relationship with 0x&, the team behind RMW. While initially stating that RMW’s assets would be removed from the Ronin Market, Larsen later clarified they would remain but lack the endorsement mark. RMW has denied any wrongdoing, asserting they have upheld all contractual obligations and that framing the situation as a loss of trust is unfair. Some observers suggested that RMW’s actions may be a strategy to secure necessary funding through a partnership with another blockchain.
