Singapore’s Grab has partnered with Natix, part of Solana’s decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN), to develop mapping and autonomous driving technologies. This collaboration aims to merge Grab’s crowdsourced mapping with Natix’s decentralized data model that incentivizes users for data contributions. The partnership is set to enhance GrabMaps’ AI-powered mapping capabilities, allowing for real-time, high-fidelity updates globally. Natix plans to launch a device, VX360, on Grab’s hardware platform, enabling Tesla drivers to collect and share 360° vehicle imagery. This data will be instrumental for enhancing mapping accuracy and supporting autonomous vehicle training. Natix addresses inefficiencies in traditional mapping methods, offering drivers opportunities to monetize their data, thus contributing to advanced map development. Grab's growing interest in blockchain is reflected in earlier partnerships allowing clients to transact using cryptocurrencies. The collaboration with Natix marks a significant step in leveraging blockchain for practical applications in mapping and AI.
