Singapore’s Grab taps Solana DePIN project Natix to ‘reshape mapping’
Singapore’s Grab has partnered with Natix, a project from Solana's decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN), to enhance mapping and autonomous driving technologies. The collaboration aims to integrate Grab's expertise in crowdsourced mapping and camera hardware with Natix's decentralized data contributions. Natix will introduce VX360, a device that enables Tesla drivers to collect and share 360° vehicle imagery, improving mapping accuracy and data for autonomous driving applications. Traditional central mapping methods are inefficient, prompting Natix to leverage an on-street camera network allowing drivers to monetize their data while contributing to next-gen maps. Grab's interest in blockchain extends beyond this partnership, as they previously collaborated with Triple-A to facilitate payments in cryptocurrencies. This development aligns with Grab's growth, reflecting its increasing revenue and technological adoption.
