SEC Approves Options Trading on Ethereum ETFs From BlackRock, Grayscale and Bitwise
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has given approval for options trading on Ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs) from BlackRock, Grayscale, and Bitwise. This approval allows investors to trade options on the iShares Ethereum Trust, the Bitwise Ethereum ETF, and Grayscale's Ethereum Trust and Ethereum Mini Trust. These ETFs enable investors to gain exposure to digital assets without having to buy or store the cryptocurrencies directly. Options trading is a crucial addition, as it provides investors the right to buy or sell at predetermined prices, significantly enhancing market liquidity. Despite last year's successes in launching and trading Bitcoin ETFs, Ethereum ETFs have not yet captured the same level of investor interest, prompting asset managers to seek listings for additional ETFs covering other cryptocurrencies. As of the latest data, Ethereum is trading at approximately $1,675, experiencing a rapid price increase in response to favorable market conditions triggered by news from President Trump regarding tariffs, which has positively impacted the overall crypto market.
