Safeheron introduces open-source Intel SGX TEE framework for Web3 security
Safeheron, a Singapore-based digital asset infrastructure provider, has launched an open-source Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) framework designed to enhance security and privacy in Web3, particularly within decentralized finance (DeFi), payment services, and decentralized autonomous organizations. This framework, built using the Intel SGX SDK and modern C++, allows clients to create secure enclaves in the cloud, promoting transparency in an industry plagued by security incidents. Safeheron emphasizes the importance of open systems to foster innovation, as indicated by CEO Wade Wang's comments. The TEE framework aims to protect code and data by isolating operations against external and internal threats. It supports various sectors utilizing TEEs like privacy-focused blockchains and exchanges. With over 100 clients, including MetaMask and Amber Group, Safeheron recently surpassed a cumulative transfer volume of $100 billion. The initiative follows rising interest in TEE technology, highlighted by Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin's call for privacy enhancements in the Ethereum ecosystem.
