Romania's national postal service, Poșta Română, has installed its first Bitcoin ATM in the city of Tulcea, marking a significant step in modernizing the country's postal services by integrating digital technology. This initiative, in collaboration with the Bitcoin Romania exchange, aims to expand access to Bitcoin services, especially in underserved areas. Plans are in place for additional Bitcoin ATMs to be installed in Alexandria, Piatra Neamț, Botoșani, and Nădlac. The move reflects a broader trend among lawmakers and public institutions responding to the rising demand for digital assets. Despite the growing adoption of Bitcoin among individual investors and institutions, overall usage remains limited globally, with a report from Q1 2025 showing only 14% of individuals in the U.S. owned BTC. Bitcoin's current market cap is about $2 trillion, suggesting significant potential for growth as its addressable market remains below 1%.
