Ripple has pledged $25 million to U.S. educational initiatives, primarily utilizing its RLUSD stablecoin. The funds will be allocated throughout 2025, with $15 million directed to DonorsChoose to support teachers and $10 million allocated to Teach For America. The donation comes at a critical time when federal funding cuts are causing instability in educational institutions across the country. Additionally, The Giving Block will now support donations using RLUSD, enhancing the stablecoin's visibility and application. An XRP Ledger developer noted that stablecoins like RLUSD demonstrate their real-world utility in donations and large-scale transactions due to their efficiency, low costs, and ability to operate without banking intermediaries. RLUSD has a circulating supply of $316 million and has integrated security features appealing to institutional users, including a recent “clawback” feature that allows issuers to reclaim tokens under certain conditions.
