Ripple, the issuer of the XRP token, reportedly made a buyout offer to Circle, the issuer of the USDC stablecoin, valued between $4 billion and $5 billion. This offer was rejected by Circle, which considered it too low. The acquisition attempt comes as Circle is among several crypto firms preparing for a public listing in the near future. Ripple's own stablecoin, RLUSD, has a significantly smaller market capitalization of around $300 million compared to Circle's USDC, which exceeds $60 billion. Despite the rejection, sources indicated that Ripple remains interested in acquiring Circle but has yet to decide on making a higher offer.
