RedotPay enters South Korea with crypto-powered payment cards
Hong Kong-based fintech RedotPay has launched its cryptocurrency-enabled payment cards in South Korea, aiming to disrupt the traditional payment market. The cards, both physical and virtual, are accepted at all Korean merchants supporting Visa. Users can get a virtual card for $10 or a physical one for $100 with minimal verification. The cards support major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ether, and stablecoins such as USDC and USDT. Users can load their cards with various crypto assets, and RedotPay offers a real-time stablecoin payment and refund system, processing refunds within minutes. Additionally, the cards are compatible with Apple Pay in Seoul, enhancing their appeal as crypto adoption grows in South Korea. This expansion follows a partnership with Visa and the establishment of a user base exceeding 4 million globally. The move comes amid increasing political support for crypto-friendly measures in the country, coinciding with the upcoming presidential elections.
