Public Keys: Strategy Doubles Down on Bitcoin Plans, Robinhood Glitters With Gold
Strategy, the Bitcoin treasury firm, has announced a bold new plan to raise $42 billion in equity and fixed income by 2027, despite facing continued losses. During its earnings call, CEO Phong Le revealed the company has increased its Bitcoin yield projection from 15% to 25% and plans to raise $21 billion specifically to purchase more Bitcoin, even as it reported a fifth consecutive quarterly loss due to recent price declines in Bitcoin. Meanwhile, Cboe, a prominent exchange operator, reported significant growth in earnings and revenue, buoyed by its expanding crypto offerings, including new Bitcoin derivatives. Robinhood also posted impressive results with a 100% year-over-year increase in crypto transaction revenue totaling $252 million, although it experienced a decrease compared to the previous quarter. CEO Vlad Tenev emphasized the need to diversify beyond crypto to stabilize the business. In response to changing market dynamics, Robinhood has seen growth in its premium Gold service, now boasting a substantial increase in subscribers.
