Portofino Technology's General Counsel and Compliance Head Is Latest Senior Exec to Exit
Celyn Armstrong, the General Counsel and Head of Compliance at Portofino Technologies, has departed from the crypto trading firm after over three years of service in London. His departure follows that of Mark Blackborough, the former Chief Financial Officer, signaling ongoing changes in senior leadership within the company. Armstrong played a crucial role in establishing Portofino's regulatory and compliance frameworks, which were instrumental in securing essential licenses and implementing operational controls. The firm has since appointed Dilan Bastin as the new Head of Compliance, aiming to sustain its growth in global markets. Armstrong previously worked at major legal firms and was associated with the U.K.'s Financial Conduct Authority for over six years, underscoring his expertise in the financial and regulatory landscape. Alongside Armstrong's exit, Cristian Dinu, a quantitative developer, has also moved to rival market maker Optiver. Meanwhile, Portofino Technologies is exploring the possibility of expanding its operations with new offices in New York and Singapore after securing funding in late 2022.
