One in four S&P 500 firms will hold Bitcoin by 2030: Crypto advisory
A recent report suggests that by 2030, approximately 25% of companies on the S&P 500 will hold Bitcoin as a long-term asset. Elliot Chun, a partner at Architect Partners, emphasized that treasury managers are under pressure to invest in Bitcoin to avoid job risks associated with missed opportunities. The push for Bitcoin as a treasury asset is motivated by its potential for growth and the fear of negative job repercussions if firms fail to invest. Currently, there are 89 publicly traded companies with Bitcoin on their balance sheets, and for Chun's projection to materialize, an additional 123 firms would need to invest in Bitcoin. The report also highlights the market performance of firms that have adopted Bitcoin treasury strategies, like MicroStrategy, which has seen its stock surge significantly, outperforming Bitcoin and the S&P 500.
