Nvidia has announced a $500 billion investment in U.S. infrastructure to build AI supercomputers, responding to rising trade tensions and tariffs. The company's operations will feature new manufacturing spaces in Phoenix, Arizona, and Dallas and Houston, Texas, for developing their Blackwell chip and AI supercomputer projects. Nvidia's CEO, Jensen Huang, emphasized that this move will strengthen the supply chain and meet the increasing demand for AI chips domestically. As part of this shift, Nvidia aims to localize production, which has previously relied heavily on overseas facilities, particularly in Taiwan. The facilities will span one million square feet and are expected to ramp up production in the coming two years. This initiative aligns with the current administration's focus on domestic manufacturing, underscoring its economic and national security benefits.
