Musk says he found ‘magic money computers’ printing money ‘out of thin air’
Elon Musk claims to have identified at least 14 computers within various federal government departments that are capable of creating money from nothing. During a podcast episode with Senator Ted Cruz, Musk described these computers as 'magic money computers' because they can generate funds seemingly without constraints. He asserted that government systems could present numbers that might be inaccurate by 5% to 10%, which raises questions about financial oversight and control. Musk explained that many payments made by the Treasury lacked proper documentation, resulting in potential waste where companies continued to receive funds even after contracts were supposed to be terminated. He contended that laziness rather than outright fraud was largely the source of these discrepancies. In response to Musk's claims, Bitcoin advocate Jameson Lopp stated simply, 'Bitcoin fixes this,' reinforcing Bitcoin's perceived advantage over traditional fiat systems in terms of monetary integrity and fixed supply.
