Movement Labs, Foundation conducts investigation into market maker abnormalities
Movement Labs and the Movement Network are currently investigating issues related to market maker abnormalities that surfaced last month. Binance had previously removed a market maker due to alleged misconduct involving Movement's native token, MOVE. A spokesperson for Movement Labs confirmed the onset of a third-party review to maintain transparency and accountability through the investigation, which is considered a standard best practice. Additionally, co-founder Rushi Manche has reportedly taken a temporary leave of absence from the company. This was announced during a company meeting, although Manche later indicated he remained active in his role. The scrutiny of market makers comes after Binance disclosed its own investigation into the MOVE token. The specific details of the market maker involved remain undisclosed, but it has been linked to Web3Port, which had interactions with Movement Labs. The investigation underscores the importance of accountability in the rapidly evolving crypto landscape.
