Moonbirds, an Ethereum-based NFT collection, experienced a dramatic sales increase of 2,525% after the acquisition of its intellectual property by Orange Cap Games. As of June 6, the collection generated over $2 million in weekly sales, surpassing its total sales for May. In June alone, it accumulated around $1.4 million, reflecting a 43% increase from May's $900,000. The number of transactions exceeded 1,000 in the past week, marking an 877% rise. This surge follows Yuga Labs' sale of the Moonbirds IP, which has shifted creative control to Orange Cap Games, known for their hybrid trading card game ‘Vibes’ featuring Pudgy Penguins. The uptick in sales coincides with a broader recovery in the NFT market, which recorded $476 million in sales during May, a 27% increase from April, and a notable rise in unique buyers. This marks the first sales increase for NFTs in 2025 after a prolonged decline.
