A critical exploit has drained $2.15 million in MBU tokens from Mobius smart contracts on the BNB Chain. The attack was detected on May 11, where the attacker deployed a malicious contract and executed a series of transactions to drain 28.5 million MBU tokens from a victim's wallet. The funds were then converted into approximately $2.15 million worth of USDT. Security firm Cyvers Alerts flagged the exploit as critical, noting the use of suspicious contract code and abnormal transaction patterns. The attacker's wallet remains active with the stolen funds as of the publication date, and Mobius Token's team has not yet released an official statement. This incident is part of a troubling trend in which the crypto space experienced significant losses from hacking incidents in April, reaching nearly $360 million across multiple events, with a drastic increase from previous months.
