Might and Magic makes crypto comeback as TCG from Ubisoft, Immutable
Ubisoft is set to release a new trading card game (TCG) titled Might & Magic: Fates, marking a return of the classic Might and Magic franchise to the gaming scene. This game will utilize Immutable's zkEVM blockchain, allowing players to buy and collect NFTs associated with the game cards. The franchise, originating in 1986, has seen numerous releases, with Ubisoft acquiring its rights in 2003. TCGs like Hearthstone have proven lucrative, with Immutable reportedly earning significant revenue in 2024. However, the TCG market is competitive, featuring titles like Axie Infinity and Gods Unchained. Immutable's VP Andrew Sorokovsky revealed that there will be hundreds of cards featuring various creatures and characters. A teaser cinematic for the game was also shared, showcasing an armored skeleton animated by green magic. Details about gameplay and preregistration are expected in the coming months. Additionally, Ubisoft is publishing a non-crypto prequel, Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era, planned for release this year.
