Michael Saylor’s Strategy buys $285M Bitcoin amid market uncertainty
Michael Saylor’s digital asset firm, Strategy, has made a significant Bitcoin purchase, acquiring 3,459 BTC for $285.5 million. This move demonstrates continued confidence in Bitcoin amidst global market uncertainty and trade-related challenges. Following this purchase, Strategy’s total Bitcoin holdings reached 531,644 BTC, amounting to a cumulative investment of $35.92 billion at an average price of $67,556 per coin. The firm has realized an over 11.4% yield since the beginning of 2025 and is currently sitting on more than $9.1 billion in unrealized profit, reflecting a 25% gain on its overall Bitcoin position. The investment comes during a period of market pullback, primarily linked to global trade policy uncertainties after recent tariff announcements by US President Donald Trump. Despite these challenges, Strategy's expansion in Bitcoin acquisitions suggests a robust perspective on the digital asset’s value in the long run.
