Metaplanet is raising another $21M through bonds to buy more Bitcoin
Japanese investment firm Metaplanet is raising $21.25 million through a new bond issue aimed at expanding its Bitcoin holdings. Just recently, the firm acquired 555 Bitcoin at an average price of $96,134, increasing its total to 5,555 BTC. The new funds will be exclusively allocated for further Bitcoin purchases, allowing Metaplanet to potentially buy 206 additional Bitcoins if the full amount is raised. The firm also announced a board meeting decision to issue 14th Stock Acquisition Rights to the EVO Fund in the Cayman Islands. Currently, Metaplanet ranks as Asia’s largest public corporate holder of Bitcoin and 11th globally. Its stock has surged over 1,600% in the past year, reflecting significant investor interest and confidence in its Bitcoin strategy. With ongoing plans to raise $250 million to support its operations through U.S. markets, Metaplanet is firmly positioning itself in the growing crypto treasury space.
