Metaplanet, a Japanese investment firm, has increased its Bitcoin holdings by purchasing 330 digital coins valued at over $28 million. This brings the firm's total BTC ownership to 4,855, worth approximately $422 million. Metaplanet's CEO, Simon Gerovich, noted that the company has spent $414.5 million on Bitcoin, averaging around $85,386 per coin. Since initiating its Bitcoin purchasing strategy in 2024, Metaplanet's stock has surged by over 1,200%. This latest acquisition follows a previous purchase of 3.78 billion yen ($26.3 million) in Bitcoin just eight days prior. Metaplanet aims to blend digital assets with innovation in finance, paralleling strategies similar to those of MicroStrategy, which has also positioned itself as a significant investor in Bitcoin. Currently, Bitcoin is trading around $87,200, reflecting a 35% increase over the last year.
