Metaplanet Inc., a Japanese company focused on Bitcoin treasury management, has announced the acquisition of an additional 150 BTC, increasing its total holdings to 3,350 BTC, valued at approximately $293 million or 42.216 billion yen. This purchase follows a 3.5% increase in Bitcoin prices, which have surpassed $88,000. Previously, Metaplanet was the tenth largest corporate holder of Bitcoin. The company's strategy aims to accumulate 10,000 BTC by 2025 and 21,000 BTC by 2026, alongside a significant fundraising initiative of $745 million marked as Asia's largest-ever equity capital raise for Bitcoin. In a move to enhance its strategic direction, Metaplanet has appointed Eric Trump to its advisory board, highlighting its ambition in the Bitcoin economy.
