Memecoin platform Pump.fun brings livestream feature back to 5% of users
Pump.fun, a Solana-based memecoin launchpad, has reinstated its live streaming feature for 5% of users five months after it was suspended due to harmful content incidents. Co-founder Alon Cohen announced the return with upgraded moderation systems and transparent guidelines. The platform aims to create a social environment that encourages creativity while warning that breaches of moderation could lead to account terminations. The policy prohibits violent content and specifies that explicit content might still occur. Earlier, the live-streaming feature was paused due to increasing instances of extreme content, including threats of violence related to token prices. The recent decision to resume streaming comes amidst a slump in interest in the memecoin market, with notable tokens significantly down in price, leading to a decline in new token launches from January's peak. Current data shows that graduation rates for tokens launched on Pump.fun have fallen to under 1%, exacerbated by a sharp drop in the overall number of tokens launched on the Solana network.
